OVERDRIVE Recording First Album Since 1984

March 28, 2007

According to MelodicRock.com, OVERDRIVE — the Swedish '80s metal band which reunited in 2003 — is currently in the studio with producer Johan Blomström (BLINDED COLONY, KAPTAIN SUN) recording its new album, "Let The Metal Do The Talking" — the group's first since 1984! The CD will be released by Lion Music in the fall.

OVERDRIVE's current lineup features original members Janne Stark on guitar, Kjell Jacobsson on guitar, Kenth Ericsson on bass and Kenta Svensson on drums, alongside singer Per Karlsson (ex-UNCHAINED). "Let The Metal Do The Talking" will feature reworked versions of tracks — "Gravy Train", "Let The Metal Do The Talking", "Reincarnation Part 1-5", "Trapped Under Ice" and "Sinister Warfare" — written way back in 1985 for what was to be the third OVERDRIVE album. The new songs, such as "Chasing Highways", follow in the same vein. "Kenth has written an as-yet-untitled number that will make fans of heavy tracks like 'Burn In Hell' drool," says the band.
